more castles!

Saturday I went to see Elsinore and Kronborg castle. We were super excited, but the weather took away some of the excitement. Despite the many, many layers I was wearing it was SO. COLD. They dropped us off in Elsinore and told us we were allowed to wander around. Yeeah, not much wandering happened. My friend Kristie and I wandered until we found a cafe that would serve us tea and let us eat our lunches. That place ended up being a betting place (I'm sure there's a word for it, but I can't think of it). But it was warm and that's all that matters. Then we headed over to Kronborg to check out the infamous castle where Hamlet lived.

(As seen from Elsinore) Based on the outside, we were really excited to explore inside. Sadly when we got inside, we learned that it burned down as per usual, then after it was rebuilt it was turned into military barracks so they took all the cool stuff out. So the castle was mad boring. But then we went into the dungeon. SO COOL (almost wrote cold, it's becoming a pattern). Sadly I don't have any cool pictures of it because my camera was slowly dying. Oh, the chapel was pretty cool too. It is the only part of the original castle remaining aka it didn't burn. Here's a picture of the slave pews:

Another cool part about Elsonore is how close it is to Sweden. It's only 4 kilometers away. APPARENTLY when it gets really cold, the Sound freezes and people can WALK TO SWEDEN. One year, a moose walked to Denmark from Sweden. I want to walk to Sweden!! Fingers crossed that happens.

That's Sweden
