Dear OMS, I love you. That is all.

I actually have news! This is so exciting. So this morning, I was repeatedly pressing the snooze button because I *really* didn't want to get out of bed and go to class. I finally gave in and grabbed my iPod to check my email and the weather before actually leaving the coziness of the covers. Lo and behold, I had an email from PC saying "Peace Corps has updated your Application Status account." I literally bolted out of bed and turned on my computer to check out the Toolkit. This is what I saw:

Now, that kind of surprises me because I wasn't expecting to hear anything until 2011. Mainly because in another section of the checklist it says something along the lines of "we're really only looking at applicants who are nominated to leave in the next 4 months, so if you don't fit that frame, you're going to be waiting until your departure gets closer." My plan was to call them in January to remind them that I'm still here and waiting but they beat me to it!

One of the blogs I stalk regularly because she is also nominated for June is fissures. She got medically cleared a couple weeks ago, so I'm definitely giving OMS a lot of props this month. Of course, some people who are nominated for way earlier dates still haven't heard anything so I feel kind of bad, but I'm still thrilled to be making progress. I hope they don't need any more information because I'm pretty sick of doctors right now and that this is only a minor delay until they clear me with no problems! Well, I can hope, right?

In other PC-related news, I've started training to volunteer with a literacy organization here in Delaware. It's pretty intense and I feel a little overwhelmed, but I still have another few weeks of training so hopefully the terror subsides. Gotta make sure I qualify for this nomination if they're already on my medical.
