vi elsker FCK

Last night all of the Danish classes went to a soccer game. It's the biggest game of the year where the local team, FC København takes on their rivals Brøndby. We were placed in the (rather chilly) upper FCK section behind the original FCK goal. It was really fun because the Danes never seem to get excited for anything but they were incredibly into last night's game. The stadium was incredibly loud and it was great. After over an hour of gameplay, FCK finally scored and the stadium went insane. 3/4 of the people there cheered and sang and it was awesome. The Brøndby fans got angry and lit flares, some of which made it onto the field. Pretty great. Although we were so cold by this point we wished we were over with them because they were jumping the whole time and the flares probably provided warmth. Not to worry though, FCK held them off for the rest of the game and we came away with a 1-0 victory. And now it's time for the interactive part of this entry! Pictures and videos for your viewing pleasure.

The field with the players warming up

Brøndby fans getting pumped for the game

FCK fans singing their team's song. One of many times

The first Brøndby player down! They brought the cart over and he magically got up on his own and kept playing. What a champ.

All the smoke from the flares Brøndby fans insisted on lighting

My friend narrated the whole game because for some reason they don't talk at all during the game here. This next video is of all of the flares lit when some got on the field. Be forewarned: her language isn't appropriate for children. But it's still awesome, so if you don't want to hear it, just mute it. There's no real sound with it anyway, so enjoy!

FCK WINS!
