Applying to the Peace Corps generally doesn't have the reputation of being a painless, stress-free process. I've definitely experienced the stress of it previously, but I think today really began the jumping through hoops of the medical/dental process.
After I got back from class today, I checked my phone and my mom had sent a picture message of a letter/large envelope from the PC to me. I called and demanded she open it right away and tell me what's inside because getting a letter is not good. Getting an email for a Toolkit update is good, getting a letter......not so much. Poor mommy thought she was making my day. Turns out, they had to send all of my dental paperwork back because the way the package was handled by the USPS, my x-rays melted and are therefore unusable. I blame this ridiculous heat wave we've been having recently because really, everyone else's usually makes it in decent condition (right?). Alas. Luckily my dentist is big on technology and took digital x-rays, so they just need to print out a new copy and the dental kit can be back on its way to DC. This time, apparently, they included a pre-paid UPS envelope to [hopefully] ensure the safe arrival of my paperwork. Fingers crossed anyway.
Hey girl! Thanks for the essay advice and for writing on my blog (no worries about being creepy, I've done it before. :) )
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering... what is PCJ? I figured I should know if my blog is showing up on it, and I assume it's a Peace Corps thing. haha
Thanks!
It's the Peace Corps Journals website (http://www.peacecorpsjournals.com/).It has a whole section of applicant blogs as well as for the individual countries.
