So today after checking the empty mailbox, I walked into the room to hear Leanne exclaim that I got a package. Not as exciting as seeing it myself, but hey, a package's a package. Of course, it was made even more exciting by the fact that I had no idea who it was from. Mommy said it wasn't her so I suspected it was the DIS packet, but there's always an element of surprise. After watching the clock for 7 more hours, I got the package - and it was an enormous packet from DIS. Fabulous. It contained emergency contact cards, a 140 page student handbook that said "Read Me!," the trickiest luggage tag I've ever seen, some stuff for my parents, and a letter for me to get even more exciting. And I AM excited.
The luggage tag is pretty cool because we're supposed to put it on our carry-on so other students can find find me in the airport / on the plane. And I've got my tickets all set, booked directly through Continental. Normally I'm all about sites like Orbitz, but through Continental it was exactly the same price, and asking for a window seat was more likely to work. According to the confirmation, I'm going to have a window seat. I better or I'd be very sad on a very long flight. A very long flight which will arrive at 7:30am for an even longer day. But it will be the start to a very exciting (starting to notice a theme yet?) four months.
